All its machines are decked out with the famous Colnago ace of clubs head tube badge. The top tube and down tube have a squared-off star shaped section, which Colnago says increases rigidity. This leads to really good power transfer and an eager ride feel. It uses alloy dropouts for their strength and reliability.
But at this price, other makers are increasingly including aero and integration features in their top-end machines. Colnago sizes its frames by the seat tube length, so the size 50 tested is significantly larger than it sounds. The finish on our Colnago C60 looks fantastic, with gloss-coated carbon weave, silver logos and luminescent crimson and blue highlights.

Please contact me at: Columbus SL The Benotto top frames were built in Italy and very highly regarded in the s and early 80s. Benotto sponsored a pro team and the model was essentially a Team replica. This frame is really very special — take a look at the lug shorelines and filing and the little point to the front of the seat lug.
The company will fiercely state that the bikes made outside Italy are still Colnago, with the design, geometry, and ride characteristics coming from Italy. stock of frame components dating.

It felt slow to me, but on top of hard-packed snow it just cruised. I had the chance to ride the first snow bike that Erik ever made. That Peacock Groove bike was a hoot to ride around through the Minneapolis autumn leaves, and I understood what a game changer a bike like that would be for a cyclist who had to endure a midwest winter.

December 13, 3: At the launch, Ernesto Colnago said: It improves on the design yet it retains the same high-quality construction and methods. The Colnago V2-R frame has been wind tunnel tested to verify its aerodynamics. It features short Kammtail tube profiles, for aerodynamic efficiency without excess material to weigh it down. The front brake on the Colnago V2-R is also direct mount and the fork blades have a deep, truncated aerofoil profile. The geometry of the Colnago V2-R has also been tweaked, with a 4mm reduction in head tube length relative to the V1-R , for a more aggressive ride position.
This will suit those planning all out efforts, or perhaps wanting to put the aerodynamics to good use in a time trial or long break-away attempt. A real race machine When it comes to pushing the pedals, the Colnago V2-R feels like a race machine from the off. It feels super-planted too and you can pilot it confidently through tight curves on fast downhill runs. The Colnago V2-R feels like a bike that wants to go fast.

Merckx’s haul included the Tour de France, the Giro and the spring Classics. Master of innovation Colnago has shown a boldly creative approach to his trade since his earliest days as a mechanic, when he constructed lighter, smaller and more comfortable frames for Giro riders who looked uncomfortable riding the style of bike that had prevailed since before the Second World War.
He has since consistently produced some of the most admired and innovative bikes, from the Mexico, with its crimped Columbus tubing, to the various incarnations of the Master, with its unique star-shaped tubing and straight fork, which helped to reduce rider fatigue.

The Colnago M10 has landed! The Colnago M10 has been a frame I have very much wanted to test ride for sometime now. As a brand, I feel FSA have come on leaps and bounds. They have a reported weight of g. Having recently returned from Cambiago, I had a long conversation with Ernesto about this frame. I was intrigued to know more about this full monocouque design.
Also, this allows Colnago to know exactly who built the frame which is pretty unique in this day and age. Colnago are fully committed to this operation and have even established an office out in Taiwan. All the carbon fibre used to make the M10 is sourced from Toray Carbon who are one of the world leaders in carbon fibre production and technology. Then and only then, are they prepared for the Paint-shop which is based in Florence, Italy. Having seen these frames in the flesh and raw form in Italy, it was extremely interesting to see at first hand the inspection process.

Hello, Last week I bought this beautifull colnago. Bought it from the son of a 88 year old who couldn’t ride anymore: . He said it was from the mid nineties.
Posted 10 August – Please can someone tell me more about this beauty I have just found Colnago Bititan. The double downtube was an attempt to make it stiff without adding weight. It is not as stiff as later frames, but it has a reputation for being a very comfortable bike to ride over long distances. The geometry is pretty racy but not too extreme.
They never made many of them and the unusual design will always make people do a double take and start conversations wherever you go. Yes, it is collectible and worth keeping and riding. With an Campy 8 speed C-Record groupset it is extremely desirable. With a Shimano groupset, ag ja no well The Art Decor paint scheme makes it even more desirable. That was the top level of paint artistry that Colnago put on their bikes.
My reaction within the first few miles of riding it: This might be one of the best frames I have ever ridden! Admittedly, I’ve never been on a really good Italian steel racing bike, but the ride on this Colnago is great.

Peugeot sold bicycles throughout the world and often used different models for each country. The same bike shipped to another country had a different model number. Peugeot issued several different catalogs for the same years. Some models were different because they had different tires on them! Imagine trying to find out which s model you have after half a dozen tire changes and three owners.
What you can usually find out is where your bike falls in the line: Your best bet for detirmining the age of your bike is to match your decals up with the decals in old catalogs. Start with the head badge and then move to the rest of the stickers. The fonts, colors, stripes, and details have all changed bit by bit over the years.
